San Angelo police responded on Tuesday to reports of a man trying to break into the back door of Shannon Pharmacy on East Beauregard with a hammer. The man fled in a black passenger car when witnesses yelled at him. A short time later, a man with a hammer was reported to be trying to break into the Medical Arts Pharmacy on Pecos. This time, officers caught the suspect, 58-year-old Jeffrey Smith, who was charged with attempted burlary of a building.
