The Texas Department of Public Safety has announced that it will begin implementing the new proof of residency requirement for obtaining a commercial driver license effective tomorrow. The requirements, which only apply to first-time commercial driver license applicants, are the result of legislation approved by the Texas Legislature and comply with federal regulations. All new applicants will be required to present two acceptable documents containing the applicant’s name and address.
