There was a public hearing Tuesday on the tax rate and budget for the coming fiscal year in Tom Green County. However, no one from the public spoke and county commissioners approved a tax rate that is unchanged at 52 and a half cents per 100 dollars valuation. And they approved a budget that includes anticipated increases in the costs of electricity and employee health insurance and three percent across-the-board pay raises for county employees.
