Polling Location May Move

Tom Green County Commissioners are considering whether to change one of the city's early voting locations. The reason? No one seems to know where it is. Elections officials say voter turnout for the primary was low at the River Place Apartments polling station in the five hundred block of Irene Street. A big reason, they say, is that while the apartment complex is nice and all, it's not on a main street and is not exactly easy to find. Commissioners now considering moving that polling place to a more convenient--not to mention conspicuous--location. Possibilities for that area include a fire station, senior citizens service center and the South Side Recreation Center.
