Several people have recently reported scams to San Angelo police. Some say they were contacted by someone claiming to be calling from outside the United States, saying they will send a check for the victim to deposit it in their personal account and purchase something for the caller from outside the U.S. Someone else reported being contacted by someone who said he was with the FBI and had a check for the victim to claim. If you receive a suspicious call, hang up- do not give out any of your personal information.
