Arrest for church damage

A San Angelo man was arrested early Sunday morning for allegedly damaging a local church. Witnesses told police they were walking near the Sacred Heart Cathedral on South Oakes Street when noticed broken glass in front of the south entrance and saw a man run to the First United Methodist Church. Officers tracked down the man who appeared to be intoxicated and was bleeding after having allegedly broken several of the Cathedral's stained glass windows. 21-year-old Dominic Manuel is charged with felony criminal mischief. Damage to the church is estimated at 15-hundred dollars.
