Animal shelter collecting cans

The San Angelo Animal Shelter is collecting aluminum cans to raise funds for a program that helps pay for the spaying and neutering of pets owned by low income city residents. SNAP – the Spay/Neuter Assistance Program – underwrites most of the cost of the spaying or neutering of a dog or cat owned by individuals or families who live inside the San Angelo city limits and receive some type of government assistance. Aluminum cans may be brought to the shelter on U.S. Highway 67 North in a plastic bag from 10 to 5 Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 9 to 6 Wednesdays, or from 10 to 1 Saturdays.
