Technology helped San Angelo police make an arrest over the weekend. Just before midnight last Saturday, officers using an Automatic License Plate Reader received an alert on a vehicle near Edmund and Van Buren. The alert showed active warrants attached to the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was stopped near the 3300 block of North Bryant Boulevard for a traffic violation. 29-year-old Dustin Schaaf of San Angelo was confirmed to have four outstanding City Warrants and arrested. During a search of the vehicle, police located two loaded handguns, one rifle, a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
