Grand jury gets Midland case

Four veterans were killed at Midland on November 15th when the flatbed they were riding on in a "Hunt For Heroes" parade was struck by a Union Pacific train. Next week - a grand jury is expected to consider the case and decide whether formal charges need to be filed. Eric Kalenak, a Midland County assistant district attorney, would not say whether his office would be recommending an indictment. An investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board continues; two civil lawsuits have been filed against Union Pacific, claiming negligence led the accident.
