What to Do This Weekend: Dash, Donate, Drums

The Concho Valley Farmers Market is holding Melon Fest Two, tomorrow starting at 7am. Enjoy the bounty of watermelons and cantaloupes and other fresh grown fruits, vegetables and plants under the Farmers Market Pavilion on South Oakes Street.
Tomorrow is the Dash for Dyslexia, a 5K Run and one and a half mile walk that starts at Bentwood Country Club at 8am.
The need for blood is so great, United Blood Services is trying to make it even easier for donors. The Donation Center is now open the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. So, tomorrow, stop by the Center on Beauregard and give the gift of life.
All vehicles are welcome for the Poker Run and Concert to Benefit Operation Finally Home. Registration begins at 2 o’clock at Stillwater Lodge on Fire Department Road. The concert and fundraiser runs from five to ten.
And, Sunday, an internationally known drum corps performs at the LeGrand Sports Complex on Varsity Lane. It’s a public show that’s part of the Angelo State University Band Camp. The Crossmen will play from 6:30-8.
