As wild fire season continues, threats exist in virtually every Texas county today. Tom Green and surrounding counties are far from the only places where burn bans are in effect. In fact, it's hard to find anywhere in Texas where normal burning IS allowed. A Texas Forest Service map of counties enforcing burn bans is nearly solid red. Every one of those red counties bans open burning now. There are a few spots where burn bans are not in effect today but they're nowhere near the Concho Valley. In fact, those counties are in isolated regions of northeast and far southern Texas and along the Gulf Coast.
