Council Approves Expenditure For New Website

The city of San Angelo is looking to revamp and upgrade its website. City Council members this morning voting to spend up to forty-thousand dollars to hire an outside website design firm to create a new city website with an emphasis on user-friendliness. Council members also saying they want to keep their website operations under city control so that, among other services, residents can pay bills for city services online. Although there were some objections to the expense, which is capped at forty-thousand, city officials say San Angelo needs a better website and has neither the time nor the resources to create one in-house. The measure passed on a four-to-two vote.
