The police chief of Abiline was in town Tuesday ot make it official: the San Angelo Police Department has been re-recognized by the Texas Police Chiefs Association in its "Best Practices" program. The department was first recognized back in 2008. During the last week of February, police chiefs from other areas of Texas came to San Angelo to conduct an on-site review. The results were sent to the Association's Recognition Committee, which then awarded San Angelo police with "Re-recognized" status.
