Hunt for Heroes report

An initial report on last month's "Hunt for Heroes" train accident in Midland was released Wednesday in Washington. Investigators say the train struck the semi-tractor-rig carrying 24 passengers from the "Hunt For Heroes" float in the right rear and carried it 30 feet before it hit a sheriff's department vehicle. Four veterans died and five people were seriously injured. As a result, all of the "Hunt For Heroes" events scheduled in San Angelo were cancelled.

Last week, two military veterans and their wives who were riding on the "Hunt for Heroes" float filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against Union Pacific railroad and the company that provided the flatbed trailer used as a float.
