The coordinator of San Angelo's Crime Stoppers program is retiring after 28 years with the San Angelo Police Department. For 25 years, Linda Ashton has worked in the Crime Stoppers program and has served as coordinator for the last 12 years. Police Chief Tim Vasquez says Ashton has--quote--"helped reduce crime in our community making it a better place for everyone." Ashton will be honored in a ceremony at the police department tomorrow morning.
