Tis the season to pass out the football honors. All-district 14-1A Coach of the year honors went to Mason's Kade Burns. Mason's Miguel Castillo was named Newcomer of the Year, and Elliott Bibb of Mason was named Offensive MVP.
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week. Carr came up with a huge interception in overtime that set up the field goal that beat the Steelers. And, for the second time this season, Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week.
The Lone Star Winter Baseball Camp is coming up next week in San Angelo. It's for ages 8 to 18, and it runs December 27 through 29. Today is the last day to register to avoid a late fee.
