Just after 9 o'clock Thursday morning, San Angelo police stopped a 1991 Chevrolet truck near the Park Motel on North Bryant Boulevard for a defective tail light and no front license plate. Officers say the 39-year-old Hispanic man's driver's license was suspended and he put up a brief struggle as they attempted to arrest him. He also swallowed what is believed to have been a controlled susbstance and then appeared to have difficulty breathing. The man, whose name has not been released, was taken to Shannon Medical Center for treatment.
