Today is Peace Officers Memorial Day as proclaimed by President Kennedy In 1962 and it begins Police Week. San Angelo police are planning several events that will be open the public, including a flag-raising ceremony at the police department today, a mass for fallen officers on tomorrow, an ecumenical service for fallen officers on Wednesday and a Police Memorial Run and Walk on Wednesday at San Angelo Stadium.
