Water change

A reminder for customers of the San Angelo Water Utilities Department: you might notice some slight changes in the odor and color of your water starting this Saturday. That's when the department will temporarily change the method of disinfection used in its public water supply. The usual mixture of ammonia and chlorine, called chloramine, will be repaced for about four weeks by chlorine only, also known as "free chlorine." Officials say the safety of the water supply will not be affected. For more information, visit the city's website.
