Colts win game on hit batsman

SAN ANGELO, Texas— the San Angelo Colts used a bottom of the ninth inning bases loaded hit by pitch RBI from Kyle Nichols to defeat the Edinburg Roadrunners by a score of 5-4 on Thursday night at Foster Field.



The Colts (4-3) got the scoring started in the first inning when Jon Dziomba hit a double and would score on a Mike Mobbs single to make it 1-0.



San Angelo continued their run scoring ways when Bubby Williams reached on an error, then Danny Hernandez would hit a double to drive in Williams and made it 2-0 game. Hernandez scored on a Dziomba double to make it 3-0.



Edinburg (2-5) would score four runs in the third inning to take a 4-3 lead on a Carlton Salters three-run home run which was the first of the season.



San Angelo tied the game at 4 in the seventh inning when Steve Rinaudo hit his first homerun of the season.



Taylor Reid (0-1) suffered the loss going one and a third innings giving up two hits, an earned run.



Adam Rowe (2-0) threw a complete game while striking out eight and allowed four runs all earned.



The Colts and Roadrunners will conclude their of the four game series in San Angelo on Friday night with first pitch set for 7:05 pm.
