The Fort Concho National Historic Landmark will be observing Memorial Day today, conducting exercises with the Daughters of the American Revolution on the Parade Ground in front of the Headquarters Building. Retired Navy Captain, Vietnam War veteran and decorated fighter pilot John C. Smith of San Angelo, will be the guest speaker. The Harmony Belles of San Angelo will perform patriotic music. And the Fort Concho Living History Program and the Sons of the Confederate Veterans will perform the flag detail and provide an artillery salute. Fort Concho will remain open until 5 p.m. for self-guided tours.
