There was a big jump in the Powerball jackpot on Thursday. The Multi-State Lottery Association announced Thursday that a nationwide surge in sales increased the jackpot to 550 million dollars. That's a one-day increase of 75-million. A lump-sum payout would be worth 350-million dollars. The next drawing is tomorrow night.
