Hickory pipeline testing

The 62-mile pipeline from the Hickory Aquifer is complete and testing of the first 36 miles of the transmission main has proven successful. The testing is expected to be concluded in the coming weeks. Bids were opened July 2nd for construction of a groundwater treatment facility to treat the Hickory's water, with the low bid totaling just over 27 million dollars - nearly two million less than the project's 29 million dollar projected cost. That facility is expected to come online in the fall of 2014.
