UT students "spoof" yacht's GPS

Researchers at the University of Texas have used a custom-made G-P-S device to divert an eighty-million-dollar yacht from its course in the Mediterranean. This has highlighted a potential threat to maritime travel. Graduate students from the Cockrell School of Engineering have led this spoofing effort. They have sent false signals to gain control of the vessel's G-P-S receivers.
