Second phase of construction begins at airport

The terminal renovation at San Angelo Regional Airport has moved to its second phase.

Officials have now seen the results of the first phase of construction at Mathis Field.

Following improvements to the lobby and TSA screening areas, construction focuses on expanding the rental car and baggage area.

The next phase also pertains to the outside of the northern part of the front of the building, as well as the northern part of the streets and parking lots.

Work during this second phase may finish in November.
