Rain beats Colts again, MLB resumes tonight

In sports, you often see streaks. This one, however, has turned into a nuisance. For the fourth consecutive time, rain has prevented the San Angelo Colts from taking the field. The Colts and Edinburg Roadrunners had a doubleheader planned for yesterday. Now the teams have one this evening. The first of two seven-inning games begins at six-oh-five at Foster Field. Colts general manager Dave Kost says the forecast finally looks like a dry one today. He says he never would have dreamt of four consecutive rainouts, but it appears the teams can play three out of the four games of this series today and tomorrow.

The Texas Rangers host the Baltimore Orioles tonight for the first time since the Orioles eliminated the Rangers from the playoffs last year. The second half of the season begins tonight in Arlington at seven-oh-five. The Rangers trail the Oakland Athletics by two games for first place in the American League west.

The Houston Astros tonight welcome the Seattle Mariners following the All-Star break. This game begins at Minute Maid Park at seven-ten. The Astros hope for a better second half than the first. They have the worst record in Major League Baseball.
