Melons at Farmer's Market

It's a sign of summer: melons are making their debut at the Concho Valley Farmers Market this morning. Farmers Market President Margie Jackson reports the crops of cantaloupe and red- and yellow-meat watermelons are “extra sweet and fresh” … and, of course, locally grown. The market sells fresh produce from 7 AM until noon each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday (until the first fall freeze) under the Farmers Market Pavilion at 609 South Oakes Street, across from Fort Concho.
