A caller's report of hearing glass breaking brought San Angelo police to the 11-hundred block of East 21st Street last Thursday evening. Officers found one man inside the residence and a Chevy Silverado pickup truck parked in the backyard. A check revealed that the truck's plates were stolen out of Midland and the truck itself had been stolen from Odessa. The man, identified as 30-year-old Modesto Resendez of San Angelo, claimed the vehicle was not his and he did not know it was stolen but keys found in the residence and other evidence indicated otherwise. Police also say Resendez did not have consent to be in the residence. He was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and criminal trespass.
