Budget Workshop Looks At Senior Meal Program

Chipping away at the city budget. The San Angelo City Council budget workshop today taking a look at saving a little here and there from a lot of projects. One that's sure to be controversial is an idea to stop serving senior meals to satellite locations and cutting the number of meals served at the program's Santa Fe Crossing location. The suggested donation per meal may also be increased. Part of the program's costs are supported by federal grants, which would not be affected by any cuts. Backers of the proposal say it could save over 44-thousand dollars a year.
