A reminder that early voting is underway with several runoff elections on the ballot. In Tom Green County, Steve Mild and David Jones are facing off for the Republican nomination for sheriff. Statewide, the GOP race to replace U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison pits lieutenant governor David Dewhurst against former solicitor general Ted Cruz. The Democratic contest is between retired teacher Grady Yarbrough and former state representative Paul Sadler. Polls are open at the Edd B Keyes Building from 7 AM to 7 PM through Friday.
