As of Sunday, the Texas Department of Public Safety began increasing DWI patrols. The enhanced enforcement will continue through September 5th, which includes the Labor Day holiday weekend. Troopers will deployed in high-risk locations at times when alcohol-related crashes are most frequent. The enhanced patrols are funded through a grant from the Texas Department of Transportation.
