West Nile virus

So far, there have been more than 380 total confirmed cases of West Nile virus in Texas. That's according to the Department of State Health Services. On Tuesday, Shannon Medical Center reported that it has diagnosed four cases of West Nile virus, including the death of a Concho County resident. The San Angelo-Tom Green County Health Department is encouraging you to take precautions to reduce the risk of contracting the mosquito-borne illness. The best way to avoid becoming infected by West Nile virus is to prevent mosquito bites.
