The matchups are set for November's U.S. Senate election. Ted Cruz took 57 percent fo the vote to win the Republican nomination over Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst. On the Democratic side, former state representative Paul Sadler defeated retired educator Grady Yarbrough. The senate seat is being vacated by Republican Kay Bailey Hutchison, who is retiring.
