San Angelo police have arrested a man for stealing items from the northside Wal-Mart. Following reports that someone had tried to steal merchandise from the store and then walked to the Murphy's gas station, officers found 32-year-old Alfredo Amaro. They connected Amaro, who was already wanted on county and city warrants, to a truck in the Wal-Mart parking lot that contained items matching items previously reported stolen from Wal-Mart. A search of the truck also turned up a device used to remove electronic anti-theft devices from merchandise.
