Supporters and opponents of gay marriage brought their fight to Chick-fil-A restaurants across the nation Wednesday. Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee had suggested that August 1st should be "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day" after the restaurant's CEO received some criticism for his remarks in support of traditional marriage. In San Angelo, police put out an advisory just before one o'clock urging motorists to avoid the intersection of Southland and Sherwood Way because of excessive traffic around Chick-Fil-A.
