The City of San Angelo and Tom Green County Emergency Management Agency says 90 percent of wildfires are caused by people. Seemingly harmless things like dragging safety chains behind a trailer, welding and small fires can accidentally set off a dangerous wildfire. The burn ban and regulations for welding are in effect.
