How Expensive was your 4th?

How much did the 4th of July set you back? The National Retail Federation says the average cost of this year’s cookout for Independence Day is 61 dollars and 16 cents, which is up about 12 percent from last year. Almost 65 percent of Americans celebrated with a cookout, picnic or barbecue, yesterday. Shoppers spent about 193 million dollars on hamburger patties, and 70 million on buns. Fireworks stands report that 75 percent of their business, every year, is in the two or three days before the 4th of July.
